8th National Patients´ Congress: Our Strenght, Our Future | 18 April, European Patients’ Rights Day
The «8th National Patients´ Congress: Our Strenght, Our Future», organised by the Spanish Patients’ Forum, aims to become a unique event of its kind in Spain and Europe.
The main objective of the event is to give patients a voice in health matters through patient organisations in a forum with, by and for citizens, generating an environment of constructive and participative dialogue and debate with top-level speakers, where the experiences of patients and the organisations that represent them are shared, in order to generate new ideas for improving the health of citizens.
Who is the target audience?
Citizens, patients, healthcare professionals, politicians, communication professionals, and anyone interested in the Spanish and European healthcare system.
National Patients´ Congress
The Spanish Patients’ Forum (FEP) is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation, founded in 2004 by Dr. Albert Jovell, and the first to be integrated in the European Patients’ Forum, being a national and international reference as a valid interlocutor in the defence of the interests of those affected by the disease, through training, prevention, research and promotion of associationism.
In 2017, the Spanish Patients’ Forum organised the first «Encuentro Nacional de Organizaciones Pacientes» in a face-to-face format at the Ministry of Health. Its success led to the organisation of the second meeting at the same venue in 2018.
The following three editions (2019, 2020 and 2021) are adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and offered in virtual format, without losing their informative and participatory spirit.
The 6th edition of the event took place on 27 September 2022, in the Auditorium of the San Carlos Pavilion of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid. It was attended by 575 people (214 attendees in person and 361 attendees via streaming). You will find all the information about this edition (monographic, videos, photos…) in the following link.
In 2023, a day related to patient advocacy will be chosen for the celebration of the 7th Meeting and subsequent editions: 18 April, European Patients’ Rights Day. The seventh edition of the National Patients’ Meeting had record attendance in person (224 attendees) and online. You can watch the videos of the seventh edition on our YouTube channel.
